Monthly Meeting at Abode Mountain Railroad Park, Nov. 18th, 2006, Phoenix, AZ

Our first annual meeting between the two G-Scale clubs; ABTO and AMRS. It was held in the Ford Station of the MLS ride on trains division. A large crowd enjoyed a buffet breakfast with all the extras. Members toured the outdoor G-scale layout and the MLS ride-on trains. Thanks to Bob R. (ABTO) and Larry H. (AMRS) for coordinating this event.

Clinic on building Stone structures, Nov. 2006 at John Meyer's Home, Phoenix, AZ

Several ABTO members recently attended a Clinic conducted by John Meyers. The objective of the two part clinic was to construct a small train station using the concepts from Stoneworks; a supplier of various stone types for building structures. The project consisted of building the necessary Styrofoam forms, cutting the stone, fitting the stones in the form, applying the concrete, and cleaning the stone of each building section after it sets up in 24 hours. Finally the building sections were glued together and concreted to match the rest of the structure. The roof and window trim were applied later.

Picnic in the Park, April 2nd, 2006, McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, Scottsdale, AZ

It was a beautiful day for our 2nd Annual “Picnic in the Park”. Plenty of food and yummy desserts at this event, and time to socialize too. Put it on your calendar for next year - it was a fun time not to be missed! Thanks to Rich Hull for doing a great job with this event.
